Funding injection for Perth Wellington Hospitals

Perth-Wellington hospitals are getting a cash infusion as the province works to ensure people can connect to the care they need, when they need it, close to home

Perth Wellington MPP Matthew Rae announced four local hospitals will receive over $6.1 million in funding through the Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund (HIRF) and Exceptional Circumstances Project (ECP) Grant.

“Our local public hospitals provide high quality care,” Rae said. “It is funding like this, that will allow them to continue providing that care locally. This funding demonstrates our government’s commitment to our local rural hospitals."

Listowel Memorial Hospital is getting $3,247,864. North Wellington Health Care Corporation will receive $1,215,881. The province is providing $217,228 to St. Marys Memorial Hospital, while Stratford General Hospital will get a $1,439,918 funding boost.

The Canadian Mental Health Association – Waterloo Wellington Branch will also receive $72,098 through the Community Infrastructure Renewal Fund (CIRF).

The funding will support local hospitals as they make critical upgrades, repairs, and maintain their facilities.
