A 36-year-old Owen Sound man is facing several charges for allegedly attacking another person with a knife in the downtown area.
Owen Sound police said the incident was reported on June 22 at approximately 10:15 p.m. on 8th Street East, near 3rd Avenue East. However, the call to police was made about two hours after the attack.
Police said the victim was found with multiple lacerations to his body and was taken to Brightshores Health System. He was treated for his injuries and released shortly after.
The accused was arrested on June 25 and held in police custody.
He was charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and two counts of failing to comply with probation.
Police said the victim and the accused know each other and the incident last week was related to a previous dispute.
Officers thanked members of the public for help in the investigation.
