Duo facing trafficking charges after police execute Exeter warrant

Two South Huron residents are facing a litany of drug trafficking charges after OPP executed a search warrant in Exeter on Tuesday.

According to police, the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) in London began an investigation earlier this month into a pair believed to be trafficking illegal substances in Exeter and the surrounding Huron County area

While executing the warrant on Tuesday, the Huron-Perth Community Street Crime Unit recovered approximately 255 grams of suspected fentanyl, 33 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 26 suboxone tablets, five morphine tablets, and 42 unknown tablets. The estimated street value of the drugs is $13,700.

Police say they also recovered 19 rounds of shotgun shells, two digital scales, two cell phones and $1,280 in cash.

As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old and a 35-year-old, both of Exeter, face two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and another two counts of possession. The 29-year-old was also charged with possession of ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.

The accused were remanded into custody and will appear in Goderich court at a later date.

Anyone with information about possession, production or trafficking of illegal drugs should contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or ontariocrimestoppers.ca.
