Two people charged following trespassing

Two Meaford residents are facing charges following a trespassing incident.

Grey Bruce OPP responded on June 23 just before 4 p.m. to a report of two individuals trespassing on someone's property in Meaford and that one individual was still on the property. The other suspect reportedly left the area.

Officers arrived and located the first suspect still on the property and the other suspect was found a short time later.

As a result, a 57-year-old from Meaford was charged with theft under $5,000. Also, a 36-year-old from Meaford was charged with theft under $5000 and possession of a schedule I substance - methamphetamine.

The accused parties are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on July 25.

Lightning strike causes electrical damage to conservation authority office

Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority says its administration office in Formosa suffered electrical damage when it was hit by lightning on Sunday.
