St. Marys Memorial Hospital temporarily reducing ER hours

The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA) said the emergency department at St. Marys Memorial Hospital is temporarily reducing service due to health human resource shortages.

The emergency department will be closed from 9 p.m. on Saturday, June 22 until 7 a.m. Sunday, June 23, at which time normal operating hours will resume.

If you require immediate medical attention during these hours you're advised to call 911. The HPHA said paramedics will remain available to the community and will re-route to the nearest available emergency department to ensure local residents continue to have access to the emergency services they need.

The closest 24-hour emergency departments to the St. Marys Memorial Hospital are:

• Stratford – HPHA – Stratford General Hospital

• Exeter – South Huron Hospital*

• Ingersoll – Alexandra Hospital*

• London – LHSC– University Hospital or Victoria Hospital

If you plan to visit one of these emergency departments, you're advised to call ahead to ensure they're operating with regular hours.

For non-urgent matters residents can call Health Connect Ontario at 811.
