Central Huron driver charged after fleeing collision scene

A Central Huron resident is facing a slew of charges after fleeing the scene of a Huron East accident on Monday morning.

Emergency services responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision along Winthrop Road around 8 a.m.

An 80-year-old passenger from Stratford was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries as a result.

According to Huron County OPP, an involved driver fled the scene on foot.

Following an investigation, police arrested a 38-year-old from Central Huron on Tuesday.

The individual is facing charges including: dangerous driving causing bodily harm, failing to stop at an accident and driving while under suspension.

Police say the suspect was in custody on Tuesday as OPP continue to investigate.
