Bruce County Rail Trail damaged

The South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police have launched an investigation following a report of a mischief to property on the Bruce County Rail Trail in Kincardine Township.

The trail system is maintained by volunteers from the Huron Shores ATV Club.

Police were told that sometime over the last several weeks, suspects entered the rail trail system off Bruce Road 33, in the Municipality of Kincardine and caused damage by cutting trees, taking signage, and cutting a gate.

The cost of repairs is estimated over $4,000.

Damaging property is considered Mischief under the Criminal Code of Canada. Mischief carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in jail upon conviction.
