A retired local physician has donated toward a very important capital campaign in Wingham.
The Wingham and District Hospital Foundation says that Dr. Marie Gear and Larry Cerson have donated $50,000 towards the Caring Together campaign, which aims to bring a brand new CT scanner to the hospital in Wingham.
Dr. Gear, who retired in 2018 after 38 years in practice, has remained an advocate for the hospital, local healthcare and the Wingham community.
Having a CT Scanner on site will help make emergency care faster and safer. Anyone who would like to join the growing group of supporter of the Caring Together campaign is encouraged to visit www.wdhfoundation.ca/ct-campaign.
At the time of writing, the campaign has raised over $2 million of its $2.5 million goal.
“I’ve known Larry and Marie for a long time and I’m not surprised that they continue to be incredibly generous and supportive of our hospital and community – it’s just who they are," exclaimed Campaign Chair Mark Foxton.
“I’m pleased to see the hospital prioritizing diagnostic imaging," added Dr. Gear.
