Staffing issues have resulted in a local emergency department to close for most of the long weekend.
The South Bruce Grey Health Centre announced Thursday evening that the emergency room at Chesley Hospital will close on Friday due to insufficient staffing levels.
"Ambulance by-pass has been undertaken to divert patients to the nearest open ED," read the notice from the health centre. "Anyone requiring immediate medical attention should call 911 to be taken to the nearest Emergency Department."
The emergency department will reopen at 7 a.m. Monday.
