The Wingham and District Hospital is temporarily closing on Easter Sunday.
The Listowel Wingham Hospitals Alliance announced the hospital would close at 5 a.m. on March 31 and reopen at 3 p.m. due to a nursing shortage.
"This closure is a last resort due to staffing shortages and we deeply regret taking this action," read an email from the Alliance.
Ambulances will bypass the hospital during the closure period and travel to the nearest open ER.
The closest hospitals to Wingham include: Listowel, Clinton, Goderich, Palmerston and Seaforth.
The Alliance says all local health care providers will be informed of the closure.
