Listowel Memorial Hospital's Obstetrics Department is temporarily closing due to six out of eight full-time Registered Nurses going on maternity leave.
Patients and their families will receive guidance from their primary care or obstetrics provider regarding alternative care options during this temporary closure.
Despite the interruption, the hospital expresses gratitude for its dedicated staff who are part of the community and remains optimistic about resuming services in the near future.
The hospital aims to reopen the department as soon as staffing levels permit, and are targeting a return date in mid-September 2024
