A senior citizen is facing charges following a recent fail to remain crash that caused injuries.
On March 21 just after 10:30 a.m., Grey Bruce OPP officers responded to a report of a collision between a vehicle and two pedestrians that occurred at the intersection of Toronto Street North and Grey Road 12 in Markdale. Police say the driver did not stay at the scene.
Police arrived and found that the pedestrians were crossing at the crosswalk when the vehicle hit them. The two youth pedestrians were treated at the scene for minor injuries. They were not taken to a hospital.
Using local video surveillance, police were able to track down the vehicle and driver. As a result, an 89-year-old resident of Meaford has been charged with Fail to Yield to Pedestrian on Roadway, Fail to Remain, and Fail to Report Accident.
