Council for the Township of Huron-Kinloss approved the 2024 budget on Monday, increasing the yearly tax rate by 4.6 per cent.
The over $25-million budget includes an increase of nearly $700,000 to the tax levy, resulting in the 4.6 per cent increase to the residential tax rate.
According to a media release from the town, the average value of a single-family home in the Township is $243,115. (Property reassessments were scheduled to take place in 2021, but the province put those on hold due to COVID-19.)
That means an increase of $77.37 in 2024 for the average single family home.
