A former President of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation's Finance Corporation has been charged with fraud.

The Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation Police Service says an investigation commenced in March 2021 after a complaint from the Band Councils for the First Nation communities of Saugeen and Chippewas of Nawash regarding irregular account activities.

Darrell Michael Jacob (Jake) Linklater, 53, from Neyaashiinigmiing faces several charges, including fraud over $5,000, and four counts of making a forged document. These charges have not been proven in court.

The accused is scheduled to appear at court in Owen Sound on April 18, 2024.
