Ash tree removal underway at Owen Sound park

The City of Owen Sound will be targeting trees infected by the Emerald Ash Borer near the Harrison Park entrance road.

The access road off First Street East is due to be closed at the park entrance pillars on Monday March 18, at 5:30 a.m. and reopen at 4 p.m.

However, access to the small parking lot from First Street East is still available, as well as access for pedestrians along the Freedom Trail. Pedestrian access to the park is also available through the Fitness Trail at 4th Street East.

People should stay clear of tree work sites for their safety and the safety of tree workers.

Residents who are concerned about the condition of a tree on City property are asked to use the City’s Report a Tree Concern form to request an inspection. Upon receipt of a form, the City will inspect and follow up with the inspection results within 15 business days.
