Wellington County is prepping to launch a new Centralized Application and Waitlist for Licensed Child Care.
Mandy Koroniak, Director of Children’s Early Years with the county, says the new setup will be on a single website with loads of resources for parents.
"They'll be able to search for childcare programs that are within Wellington County or Guelph and they can search for preferences closer to their home or work and apply to programs directly through the website," Koroniak explained.
Koroniak adds the site will also include a research tool.
"That's really the seeking of childcare programs, so they can visually see information, there's a map component, but they can more easily identify which childcare programs are in their area," added Koroniak.
On top of that, the site will also include information on financial and special needs supports.
"There'll be some information related to the Childcare Fee Subsidy Program, how they can apply for that, and also, we'll be providing information about the special needs resources that are available to families with children in licensed childcare to support their inclusion in programs," Koroniak noted.
The site will launch in April. More information is available on wellington.ca/childcarewaitlist.
