Charges laid in historical sexual assault case

Wellington County OPP have laid charges against a Puslinch resident stemming from an investigation into historical sexual assaults.

In October of 2023, police began an investigation into historical sexual assault claims that occurred between 1986 and 1991 throughout Wellington County.

Following the investigation, police have charged 68-year-old Brian Edward Cox of Puslinch with two counts of Sexual Assault, two counts of Gross Indecency, and two counts of Sexual Intercourse With a Female Between 14 and 16 Years of Age, contrary to the Criminal Code.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on April 23, 2024. The charges have yet to be proven in a court of law.

Youth volunteers practice coastal conservation

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
