A charity hockey game between Perth County police and firefighters was a great success.
On February 18, members of local Perth County Fire Departments took on members of the Perth County OPP in a friendly hockey game played at the Mitchell Arena and Community Center.
The game was played in support of Victim Services of Bruce Grey Perth and the Mitchell Food Bank.
Even though the firefighters got the win, the real win was the 274 pounds of food and $800 cash from donations from attendees of the event for the food bank, and Victim Services, who raised $2,400 through a silent auction.
