Humane Society holding walk-in adoptions

The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo and Stratford Perth (HSKWSP) is hoping you'll open your heart to a furry pal this Valentine's Day as it holds a walk-in adoption event.

"We have over 120 animals in our care between our two centres," said Chief Executive Officer Victoria Baby. "We are hoping our community will choose adoption this week and help us find homes for the pets in our care, as well as open up space for those on our waiting lists looking for help."

Adoption fees for each animal is $400 for adult dogs, $325 for adult cats, $50 for rabbits, and $25 for guinea pigs. The fees include a spay or neuter for dogs and cats, parasite treatments, microchip, vaccines, and first order of food. Rabbits will also be spayed or neutered and have a microchip.

The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Stratford Perth Humane Society on Valentine's Day. In Kitchener, it will operate from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
