Clinton Raceway is finalizing everything for its 2024 race season.
Marketing Manager, Jessica Carnochan, says the season kicks off May 19 and runs right through until Labour Day every Sunday except June 2. Carnochan says they have lots of great events lined up.
"We do a fundraiser each and every Sunday for local groups and organizations, and last season we were able to help them raise over $55,000. So we're looking forward to having lots of groups with us this summer and hopefully we can surpass that number," Carnochan said.
The event calendar will include the Kin Pace on July 7, the 9th Annual Vic Hayter Trot on July 21 and the fan favourite, wiener dog races on July 28.
"It's also a Legends Day event this year. So that's something that happens every other year and it's a fundraiser for the Clinton Public Hospital Foundation," added Carnochan.
The Legends Day event, set for June 30, is very special and features some of the sport's most accomplished hall of fame drivers.
"Some of them aren't driving anymore, but they still come and sign autographs, they take pictures. We'll also have our online auction again this year and there'll be a BBQ, a silent auction, 50/50, all of that going on on the track, as well," Carnochan noted.
The Legends Day event has helped Clinton raise over $310,000 for its public hospital foundation since it began in 2001.
