Ontario Provincial Police in Grey Highlands are investigating the theft of an enclosed trailer that contained approximately $30,000 worth of tools.
On Thursday, February 8, 2024, OPP received a call from a victim reporting the theft of a trailer from a business on Road 180 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands. The trailer, a dark grey Discovery DMA, is adorned with red and white "Glenvalley Construction" logos on its sides and rear.
Police have identified a vehicle of interest: a black Chevrolet Z71 crew cab pickup truck with 5-spoke aluminum rims. The truck was observed hooking up to the stolen trailer, but no license plate was visible on the vehicle.
The trailer's GPS tracker later was discovered in a ditch on the 4th line in Melancthon Township.
Police are urging individuals with surveillance cameras within the vicinity stretching from Road 180 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands to the 4th Line in Melancthon Township to review their footage from the early hours of February 8, 2024, specifically between 1:25 a.m. and 1:35 a.m.
Anyone with relevant information about the theft is encouraged to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Alternatively, anonymous tips can be provided to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or online at https://crimestop-gb.org/. Informants may qualify for a cash reward of up to $2,000.
