The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority (ABCA) has announced the appointment of Davin Heinbuck as its new General Manager and Secretary-Treasurer, effective February 12, 2024.
Heinbuck, a resident of St. Marys and native of Mitchell, previously served as the Water Resources Coordinator and has been with ABCA since 2003.
“On behalf of the Human Resources Committee and the entire Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce our new General Manager and Secretary-Treasurer is Davin Heinbuck,” said Marissa Vaughan, Chair of the ABCA Board of Directors. “Davin has the technical skills and watershed management knowledge required for this position and he has the team-building and organizational skills needed to lead us confidently into the future.”
“Davin is skilled in all aspects of watershed management. He knows the watershed and our local communities," Vaughan added.
Outgoing GM Brian Horner will assist in the transition, returning to his former role as Financial Services Supervisor. Vaughan commended Horner for his decade of successful leadership and expressed gratitude for his continued contributions to ABCA.
Heinbuck expressed gratitude for the opportunity, emphasizing his commitment to collaborating with member municipalities and community partners to advance ABCA's mission, adding “I look forward to working closely with our member municipalities and our other community partners as we continue to protect life and property and watershed resources, and build healthy, resilient watersheds, in the years to come.”
Outside of work, Heinbuck is recognized for his contributions to angling and conservation, receiving accolades such as the Paul Gasbarino Distinguished Service Award and induction into the Muskies Canada Hall of Fame.
