Georgian Bluffs Council has reviewed the 2024 Draft Budget and will vote to pass it at this Wednesday's meeting, but not before the public has one last chance to weigh in.
There will be a Public Input session at the February 7 meeting, where residents can give their thoughts on the budget, which includes a 9.19% tax increase.
The rate hike equals an increase of $14 per month for the average residential taxpayer.
Staff say this year's significant investments include: continued work on the Pottawatomi Water System, multi-year replacement programs for Emery Bridge and Sideroad 3 Bridge, initiation of the Corporate Climate Action Plan, as well as upgrades to technology including laptop replacement, budget software, website improvements, and more.
The Public Input Session will take place shortly after 5 p.m. in council chambers. Following the session, and the County of Grey’s adoption of its 2024 Budget and Tax Policy, staff will present the 2024 Sums Required By-law and Tax Rates By-Law for Council approval.
