North Shore work continuing in Saugeen Shores

The Town of Saugeen Shores will continue its shoreline rehabilitation work on North Shore Road the first week of February.

"This year's plan is to rebuild the slope up to the existing trail and rehabilitate the surrounding area," the town said in a news release. "Crews will then re-construct a three metre wide trail beside the existing road."

The stairs leading down to the water will also be removed. A brand new ramp was built last year to replace them.

The work was initially started in 2022 to fix the trail and protect the road from high-water levels and erosion.

Saugeen Shores said the construction is expected to last in the spring. More information on closures and detours will be shared as it becomes available.
