OPP recover stolen vehicle, seize illegal drugs in Bruce County

A 60-year-old from Bruce County is facing charges after the seizure of a stolen vehicle and more than $1,000 in illicit drugs on Wednesday.

Police said a search warrant was carried out at a resident on Chepstow Road in Walkerton as part of an ongoing investigation involving a stolen pickup truck.

The investigation involved members of the Huron-Perth OPP Community Street Crimes Unit, Grey-Bruce Community Street Crimes Unit, Organized Crime Towing and Auto Theft Team, and members of the Huron OPP.

Police said they recovered a stolen 2020 Ford F150 pickup truck, valued at $43,000, and about $1,200 worth of suspected cocaine and methamphetamine.

As a result, a 60-year-old from Bruce County has been charged with two counts of drug possession and one count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

The accused was later released from police custody with a future court date.
