According to Environment Canada, bitter cold and snowy conditions are set to descend upon Midwestern Ontario this week.
Its forecast predicts a wintry onslaught on Tuesday, with icy conditions and a potential snowfall of up to 15 cm. Areas across Huron, Perth, Bruce, Grey and Northern Wellington are expected to face blowing snow and freezing rain, prompting concerns about challenging travel conditions.
Environment Canada's statement notes that the snow, part of a major winter storm, will likely move into portions of Southern Ontario on Tuesday, leading to difficult travel conditions, especially later in the day and into the night. The national weather agency anticipates rain and strong winds continuing into Tuesday evening.
The wintry mix is expected to persist throughout the week, with the forecast calling for rainfall and temperatures nearing 4°C on Wednesday. Flurries are anticipated to return to the forecast on Thursday as temperatures drop to the freezing mark.
