South Bruce Peninsula seeks nominees for Heritage Award

The Town of South Bruce Peninsula has opened up nominations for the 2024 Heritage Award.

Established in 2014, the accolade aims to honor an individual or group whose contributions have significantly enriched the heritage landscape of the town.

Last year's winners were the Colpoy's Bay Women's Institute and the Hepworth Anglers Club. There were no awards handed out in 2021 or 2022, after no nominations were received.

“We are fortunate to reside in a town that holds our history in high regard and takes pride in celebrating it," said Mayor Jay Kirkland in a media release. "The inception of the South Bruce Peninsula Heritage Award a decade ago was a testament to our commitment to recognize deserving individuals, organizations, businesses, and religious affiliations."

Nominations can be made by the community, highlighting individuals or groups whose endeavors have left a lasting legacy on our town's historical fabric.

Anyone in the community can suggest a nominee, as long as the person/organization/business you are nominating signs the nomination form.

Completed nomination forms are to be received by the Town by February 28 at noon.

Awards will be given out at the 2024 Volunteer Dinner.
