A Chatsworth native is facing a lengthy list of charges following a recent ATV theft.
On December 24 just after 2 p.m., Grey Bruce OPP officers responded to a call regarding a stolen ATV from a property in Chatsworth Township.
Later that day, police received a report of an ATV stuck on a muddy trail near Highway 6 and 10 near Meaford. Officers approached the ATV, which was determined to be the stolen one from earlier, and informed the rider they were under arrest. The suspect then sped off on the ATV.
On December 25 just before 8 p.m., an officer spotted the stolen ATV and suspect at an Owen Sound business. The officer approached the suspect, who then punched the officer in the face and then resisted arrest.
As a result, a 29-year-old from Chatsworth has been charged with 9 different offences, including assaulting a peace officer, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and possession of cocaine and methamphetamine.
The accused was held pending a bail hearing.
