A 35-year-old Stratford resident is facing charges for smuggling weapons into the country, after a joint investigation by local police and the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA).
CBSA intercepted conducted energy weapons getting delivered into the country by mail. As a result, a warrant was executed at a residence on Orr Street in Stratford on Thursday.
Police seized five stun guns and arrested the resident who had them delivered.
The man faces charges including importing a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of a weapon and smuggling.
He was released on an undertaking and will appear in Stratford court in the new year.
