The Realtors Association of Grey Bruce Owen Sound reported a modest increase in MLS home sales in November 2023, with a total of 152 units sold, marking a 16 per cent rise from the same month in 2022.
However, home sales for the month were 25.4 per cent below the five-year average and 27.6 per cent below the 10-year average.
Year-to-date home sales remained relatively stable, totaling 2,282 units over the first 11 months of 2023, reflecting a marginal increase of 0.9 per cent compared to the same period in the previous year.
The average price of homes sold in November 2023 was $656,825, indicating an 8.5 per cent increase from November 2022. However, the year-to-date average price showed a decrease of 8.2 per cent, settling at $638,675 over the first 11 months of 2023.
New listings saw a notable rise of 12 per cent from November 2022, with 317 new residential listings added in November 2023. This figure represented the highest number of new listings in the month of November in over five years.
Active residential listings at the end of November totaled 1,071 units, indicating an 11.2 per cent increase from the end of November 2022.
