Police recover cocaine, weapons in Collingwood bust

Collingwood and Blue Mountains OPP have arrested a man and seized what they're calling a large quantity of cocaine, after a months long drug trafficking investigation.

On Monday, members of the Collingwood Community Street Crime Unit stopped the accused, a 43-year-old man, in his vehicle and arrested him. Police then executed warrants at three locations in Collingwood.

According to OPP, they seized a large quantity of cocaine, a shotgun, a handgun, ammunition, a stolen Motorola radio and an expandable baton.

The man from Collingwood is now facing charges including: possession for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a firearm and possession of property obtained by crime

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood at a future date.
