United Way releases final instalments of Quality of Life series

United Way Perth Huron's Social Research and Planning Council is releasing the last two reports of their 2023 Quality of Life series.

The third instalment, "A Healthy Well-Being", goes over how physical and mental health can affect quality of life.

The final instalment, titled "A Clean Environment", looks at how the quality of life of the environment in Perth and Huron counties is faring.

Results show the number of special air quality statements is on the rise, resulting from a brutal Ontario wildfire season and emissions from greenhouse gases.

“We’re excited to share more of our findings,” said Kristin Crane, Director of Social Research and Planning for United Way. “People’s mental and physical health, the social environment and the state of the natural environment are important components of how people respond to the community. As with earlier reports, we hope the topics covered and recommendations made spark discussion and offer possible solutions to help us improve life across or region.”
