Georgian Bluffs set to Sparkle

The Winter Sparkle & Skate event is being planned to bring holiday cheer to Georgian Bluffs residents.

On Friday, December 1st, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., the Township of Georgian Bluffs is set to bring the festive season into full swing at the Shallow Lake Community Centre.

The lights on two majestic trees will be lit at 6:45 p.m., ushering in the spirit of the season, while the sounds of the season will fill the air thanks to students from the Keppel-Sarawak Choir.

There's pictures with Santa at 6 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. and a free family skate starts at 7 p.m. Local vendors will also be on site with a showcase of their products, as well. The Shallow Lake Jr. Hockey team will be on hand at the concession stand, serving up refreshments to support the local skating club.

New and unwrapped toy donations will be collected for the Inter-Township Fire Department’s annual toy drive.

“We are thrilled to host Georgian Bluffs' first-ever Winter Sparkle & Skate event,” said Niall Lobley, Acting CAO/Director of Community and Environmental Services. “This celebration is a testament to our area’s vibrant spirit and the wonderful sense of community that shines in the holiday season.”
