Christmas Tree recalled due to fire hazard

A pre-lit Christmas tree sold in Canada may pose a burn or fire hazard.

Health Canada said the Home Decorators Collection Grand Duchess Balsam Fir 5000 LED Pre-Lit Artificial Christmas Tree has been recalled.

The national agency said the Christmas tree’s control panel or electrical cord plug may overheat, posing a burn or fire hazard.

You're asked to immediately stop using the recalled product and return it to a local Home Depot store for a refund.

The company reported that 883 affected trees were sold in Canada in October and November.

As of November 21 the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.
