A Port Elgin man has been charged with breaking and entering after an afternoon call to police on Tuesday.
Around 4:30 p.m. Saugeen Shores Police responded to a report of a break and enter in progress at residence in Port Elgin.
Police claim the homeowner said an unknown man had entered the residence but had run from the scene.
Police say they located the suspect across the roadway, allegedly attempting to break into a second home.
The man was arrested at the scene and held in custody for a bail hearing.
As a result of the incident, the 47-year-old faces charges for two counts of break and enter and mischief under $5,000.
