Patients should have faster access to a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine at Owen Sound Hospital. Brightshores Health System representatives celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday to mark the installation and commencement of operations of a second MRI.
The second machine is expected to increase capacity and improve patient care.
“We are thrilled to introduce the second MRI machine at the Owen Sound Hospital. This is a major step in our journey to enhance healthcare services for our community," said Ann Ford, President and CEO of Brightshores. "This investment allows us to provide timely and accurate diagnoses to our patients, improving their overall health outcomes. Let me take this opportunity to thank our generous donors who continue to support the purchase of medical equipment.”
Ford called the expansion part of ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare services in the region and ensure that physicians have access to state-of-the-art diagnostic tools. The follows the recent opening of the CT scanner at the Brightshores’ Hospital in Southampton.
