Another emergency department closure, as the doors of Emergency Department at the St. Marys Memorial Hospital closed at 5 p.m. November 3.
The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance reported the sudden closure is due to unplanned health worker shortages. The emergecy department was scheduled to reopen Saturday at 7 a.m.
Meantime, anyone with a medical emergency should call 9-1-1. Paramedics will take patients to the nearest available Emergency Department
The closest 24-hour Emergency Departments to the St. Marys Memorial Hospital are Stratford General Hospital, South Huron Hospital in Exeter, Ingersoll's Alexandra Hospital or University Hospital or Victoria Hospital in London.
