Local hospital foundation announces new manager

The Listowel Memorial Hospital Foundation has a new manager.

The foundation announced that Elizabeth Dwyer will be assuming the role. Dwyer has spent the last five years with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, most recently as Manager of Development and Donor Relations.

In that role, Dwyer spent countless hours working on donor stewardship, as well as event management and major fundraising campaigns. She also previously served as an intern with the Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health in Goderich following her time at Carleton University, where she earned a Bachelor of Humanities with honours.

Dwyer was raised in Huron County and currently resides in Listowel. She will begin her new role in November.

“Quality health care close to home is incredibly important, and the need for support is growing along with our community. The Listowel Memorial Hospital Foundation is thrilled to have Elizabeth bring her fresh ideas and fundraising expertise to this incredibly important work, as we strive to meet the health care needs of our rapidly growing and changing community,” said Krishna Beharry, LMHF Board Chair.

“Coming from a small town in Huron County, I’m very familiar with the challenges and opportunities of rural healthcare. Without organizations like the Foundation, local hospitals with limited resources would struggle to keep up with growing health care needs. Building on the great work that’s already taken place, I’m excited to use my skills to build for the future,” Dwyer shared excitedly.
