Huron County OPP say a woman they are searching for in connection with a police-involved shooting may have been seriously injured during the incident.
On October 18, Huron County OPP officers were called regarding a stolen vehicle in Seaforth in the morning. Officers located the vehicle, and followed it in an unmarked police vehicle to a residence in Seaforth. Police approached the vehicle, and an altercation took place.
According to Ontario's Special Investigations Unit, during the incident, an officer discharged their firearm into the suspect vehicle, striking a 35-year-old suspect. The suspect vehicle drove off, and the victim was taken to the Clinton Public Hospital. The other suspect, since identified as 34-year-old Karley Frayer of Huron East, drove away in the vehicle and hit another vehicle, at which point the stolen vehicle was abandoned.
Frayer has not been seen since, but on Tuesday, Huron OPP released a statement saying they believe Frayer may have sustained a serious injury during the interaction with police.
"Investigators are concerned for her safety and well-being," police said in the statement.
Frayer is wanted for numerous offences including attempted murder, dangerous operation of a vehicle and theft over $5,000.
Frayer is described as 5'3", caucasian, 180 lbs with wavy coloured hair. If anyone knows of Karley Frayer's whereabouts, immediately contact Huron County OPP or Crime Stoppers.
