The OPP are reminding everyone to check their vacation properties.
Thefts and break-ins are common at seasonal homes. Small appliances and alcohol are often targeted by thieves as they are easy to steal and equally easy to sell for cash or drugs. Seasonal homes should always be locked and monitored somehow.
Police encourage property owners to have someone check their vacation property daily during the "offseason" if possible to ensure everything is secure.
