Durham Emergency Department closed September 28

As of 7 a.m. on September 28, the Durham Emergency Department is closed. This is a result of ongoing staffing issues.

The ED will be closed for 12 hours, re-opening September 29 at 7 a.m.

All previously announced closures remain in effect. Those include:

The Chesley Emergency Department will remain closed until Monday, October 2 at 7 a.m.

The Durham Emergency Department will have overnight closures this weekend, beginning September 29. It will close at 5 p.m. each night, re-opening the following morning at 7 a.m.

Ambulances will take patients to the closest open ED.

Anyone needing immediate medical attention is told to call 911. For non-emergencies, Health Connect Ontario can be contacted 24/7 by calling 811.
