The South Bruce Grey Health Centre has announced more emergency department closures.
The Chesley Emergency Department will experience a very lengthy closure. It will be closed on Thursday, September 7 at 5 p.m. and will not reopen until Monday, September 25 at 7 a.m.
The Durham Emergency Department will be closed overnight on the following dates:
Saturday, September 9 – closing at 5 p.m., reopening on Sunday, September 10 at 7 a.m.
Sunday, September 10 – closing at 5 p.m., reopening on Monday, September 11 at 7 a.m.
The SBGHC says the closures are due to ongoing staffing challenges. Ambulance by-pass has been undertaken to divert patients to the nearest open ED.
Anyone requiring immediate medical attention should call 911 to be taken to the nearest Emergency Department. For non-urgent health care needs, Health Connect Ontario is available 24/7 for non-emergency health-related questions by calling 811.
