Owen Sound RCMP Musical Ride this weekend

Some tickets are still available for the Owen Sound presentation of the 150th Anniversary Tour of the RCMP Musical Ride. Proceeds from the show will support improvements to Camp Presqu'ile.

Camp Director Scotia Hutton said the camp, a partnership between the YMCA and Rotary, offers a great experience for kids.

"So camping is such a great place for kids to take a break from their family unit and kind of see who they are when they're standing alone," she explained. "It's really awesome and so rewarding when parents pick their kids up and even after a one week stay, they immediately can see a change in their kids and they're like: Oh my God, there's so much more independence or like, Oh, are they like are being very helpful."

"They get to stay in a cabin overnight while they're here with us and decide what programs they'd like to do during the day," she continued. "So they could do canoeing or kayaking, arts and crafts, swimming in the bay, or in our pool. They can do sports, they can do adventure, they learn lots of outdoor skills, and most importantly, they're outside having fun with kids or old age old summer."

The shows take place at 2 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Center. There are also performances from a few equestrian groups, and the Grace Riding Association, and the Global PetFoods Super Dogs.

Tickets are available here.
