North Perth staff presented the results of their 2024 budget survey to council at their final meeting in August.
Communications Coordinator, Mackenzie Smith, says the budget survey had a simple purpose, which is collecting feedback on resident's priorities and preferences with respect to the budget.
"With the focus on municipal services and the service inspections, infrastructure investment and asset needs. The findings of the survey were shared with council in preparation for the council's 2024 budget visioning session which will be held in September," Smith shared.
This year, Smith says there were a range of questions presented to respondents to try and yield the best results possible.
"We asked our respondents about their age, what type of property they own or live at in North Perth, as well as their satisfaction with our services. Also, what they believe some of the top challenges facing North Perth are, and how the community would like to be involved with the 2024 budget process as we move into the fall," Smith added.
Additionally, on a positive note, Smith says they had a really great pool of respondents this year.
"It was great to see this year that we had a significant increase in respondents from previous years, with a wide range of people from different age groups and types of properties in North Perth. Having such a broad range of respondents gives a better understanding to council and staff of what the community wants and needs from the 2024 budget," concluded Smith.
