Huron County's Economic Development Department has launched the county's first dining guide.
Economic Development Officer Rick Sickinger said it's something they've wanted to do.
“One of our brands is Taste of Huron so we think that both for visitors and residents that local food experience is an important part of our brand," said Sickinger. "This dining guide is an evolution of that, better connecting our visitors to the wonderful food and beverages available to them.”
He added when most people go on vacation and visit a new location, they have two questions. The first is what can I do here and the second is where can I get something to eat.
“This publication kind of helps connect those 1.2 million visitors that we see in Huron County every year to the really great dining that they can enjoy while they're here and it connects them to some of our wineries and breweries,” he said.
Sickinger said research done by the county's regional tourism organization, RTO4, indicated that more people from the GTA are discovering Huron County every year and the majority of them said they would come back again and tell their friends. The new dining guide just adds to that experience.
The guide is available at local tourism centres, attractions, businesses, and online.
