Saugeen Shores holding heritage inventory open house Wednesday

The Town of Saugeen Shores is holding an open house to celebrate its new Heritage and Cultural Inventory, that aims to preserve the information and resources listed on their current Register.

This session will provide information on the provincial heritage designation process, as well as the Saugeen Shores Municipal Heritage Property Plaque program. It runs from 7 to 9 p.m. on August 9 at the Rotary Hall in the Plex.

With Council’s support, the Municipal Heritage Committee is establishing the inventory to preserve the information and resources listed on the Town’s current Heritage Register.

In a release, the Town notes that a property's inclusion in the Inventory has no legal repercussions or requirements. Participating properties will continue to have heritage and cultural features documented and available publicly online.

The Town has invited property owners listed on the Register to the open house by letter. If you are a designated heritage property owner and have not received a letter, contact the Town.

All members of the public are welcome to attend.
