New building permit for Port Elgin Waterfront development

A second permit has been issued for the planned waterfront development on Port Elgin's main beach.

The building permit for the southern section of the Cedar Crescent Village project outlines the finishing touches on the design and plans to ensure the project complies with all the building code requirements.

The Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority authorized the proposal as well. And the Ministry of Environment Conservation and Parks issued a Permit to Take Water in November 2022.

In March of this year, the Town awarded a permit for the north phase.

The Cedar Crescent Village is public-private partnership to develop part of the Port Elgin waterfront. The Town believes the facility, including a new restaurant and washrooms, will enhance the Main Beach and make waterfront services more convenient.
