No one was injured in a fire that broke out at an Owen Sound restaurant Tuesday morning.
Owen Sound Fire and Emergency Services responded to a call around 10:30 a.m. of smoke in the Kelseys at the Heritage Place Shopping Centre.
Fire Chief Phil Eagleson says crews quickly shifted to fire suppression once they got there.
"Upon arrival, heavy smoke conditions were found and a working fire in the attic — or the roof area of the building rather," he said. "Twenty Owen Sound firefighters worked to extinguish the fire using an internal attack and external ventilation. The structure of the building was saved, however the contents and equipment are heavily damaged."
An investigation into the cause is ongoing, but Eagleson says they think it was caused by equipment in the electrical room.
Crews shut down 16th Street East in both directions for about three hours as they tended to the blaze.
The street has since been reopened.
