Charges laid in connection to two fires

Wellington County OPP have charged a Mount Forest native in connection to two fires.

On February 2, officers and local firefighters responded to a vehicle fire at a residence on John Street in Mount Forest at 3 a.m.

Then, on July 10, a trailer fire was responded to by emergency personnel at a residence on Durham Street, and yet another on Perth Street in Mount Forest, both after 11 p.m.

Police have now charged a 21-year-old Mount Forest man with three counts of Arson - Damage to Property. The accused is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
