The Mayor of Central Huron says it's going to take a little longer to replace the windows in the town hall in Clinton.
Jim Ginn says the one tender they received was considerably higher than they had hoped it would be.
“So we did get a grant for it but with prices the way they were the recommendation from the engineers that were working on the project was that we re-tender at a later date and try to get more tenders in and hopefully a more competitive price," Ginn stated.
The current windows, as Ginn notes, are old and they leak and air gets through them.
“It makes it harder to heat the building, harder to cool the building, they're deteriorating, we want to keep the town hall up. It's a beautiful building, we want to maintain it and now that we've de-designated it we can put in windows that might be slightly different than the originals but we want to keep the same look," added Ginn.
Ginn says they'll probably re-tender this fall and windows would likely be replaced next spring or summer.
